CodeSprouts strives to teach children fundamental computer programming concepts and help them create their own code.

Our goal is to nurture their awareness and interest in technology — not only as something they can use, but as a tool to create and build, using imagination, creativity and inventiveness. Students will learn computer science concepts and practice computer programming with lessons and exercises using effective environments such as code.org, scratch.mit.edu, and p5js.org.

The teacher, Michael O’Connell, has been instructing students for the past several years at multiple schools (as described in this newsletter article), and has led coding camps and lessons at many schools and libraries, in Asia and the U.S. He spent many years working with employers such as IBM helping people learn and use computer science and technology and coding-related tools and languages.
